Might be a bit too early for this but I was just wondering. What albums did you listen to this year that you enjoyed a lot? I'll go first.
I personally liked Graduation by Kanye West a lot, it was what really got me into rap (kinda, but not really >_>). I found his sampling and lyric skills a lot better than most modern rappers like Soulja Boy and 50 Cent (lol).
Worth a purchase for once. All songs decent with the ones that really stick out awesome. Hurricane and Littleblood are fantastic Indie songs.
Then Sea and the Cake's new album Everybody. One of my favorite bands and tracks like Coconut and Up on Crutches are classics right there.
Dreamy songs.
Blu & Exile - Below The Heavens
Little Brother - Getback
Royce Da 5'9 - The Bar Exam (it's a mixtape....)
Freeway - Free At Last
Talib Kweli - Eardrum
Panacea - The Scenic Route
Consequence - Don't Quit Your Day Job
Pharaohe Monch -Desire
Common - Finding Forever
9th Wonder - The Dream Merchant 2
Kanye West - Graduation (was a bit dissapointed in this)
Devin the Dude - Waitin To Inhale
Bone Thugs-N-Harmony - Strength & Loyalty
Black Milk - Popular Demand
The White Stripes - Icky Thump
Incubus - Light Grenades
Sadly, the Muse and Chili Peppers albums I've really been into were released last year, and these are the only ones I've had a chance to listen to and highly recommend for anyone who's open to anything and everything. Kayne's got some great production and some interesting lyrics but I don't think he's as good as everyone thinks he is.
He's got a temper and is an easy target for the media so his albums sell more - it's the same principle behind why people love the likes of Nicole Richie and Paris Hilton. Some load of Bullshiat.
