0 | So I listen to a lot of mainstream music (Green Day, RHCP, The Offspring, etc.). I'm trying to get into some good non-mainstream bands as I am tired of it. So recommend me some good bands, maybe a song or two from them. My iPod is in desperate need of good music! All help is appreciated. |

0 | stuff that you may or may not like depending on your taste. early foo fighters (colour and the shape, there is nothing left to lose) base some lighter stuff with grunge influence from nirvana. Pavement (Slanted & Enchanted, Crooked Rain) this is pretty hard to listen to at start it's an acquired taste Radiohead (The Bends, OK Computer, Hail To The Thief, In Rainbows) I doubt you'll like the really electro stuff so i avoided that but all these albums are great |

0 | My favourite subject :) Ill list a variety of stuff, using polite's layout: HIM Albums - Razorblade Romance, Venus Doom Songs - Bleed Well, Sigilium Diaboli, Right Here in my Arms, Heartache Every Moment I could list so many more songs, but I imagine you'll listen to one and that's about it... They're a gothic band, quite melancholic. CKY Albums - Infiltrate-Destroy-Rebuild Songs - Flesh into Gear, close yet far, escape from hellview, to all of you If you've ever watched jackass, you'll probably know of these guys. Complex riffs, cool lyrics Queens of the stone age Albums - QOTSA, era vulgaris, songs for the deaf Songs - 3s & 7s, i never came, if only, little sister, goin' out west Foreign Objects Songs - Test it out, Disengage the simulator I think they called themselves Sci-Fi Death Metal. Sooo good, but you'd have to youtube them, and then maybe download them off limewire or something 69 eyes Songs - Lost Boys, Still waters run deep, wasting the dawn, never say die Clutch Albums - Blast Tyrant, Clutch, Pure Rock Fury Songs - Profits of Doom, Big News I + II, Pure Rock Fury, La Curandera, The Cure Songs - Friday Im in love, Lovecats, Inbetween days, Lets go to bed Prince Songs - Little Red Corvette, Purple Rain, Raspberry Berret, I'll edit more in later. It would probably be easier to recommend you stuff if you listed more genres, as opposed to just 3 fairly similar bands. People off the top of my head that I'll expand upon when I do edit this - Justice, Pendulum, Mr Bungle, Dog Fashion Disco, World Under Blood, Black Sabbath, Desert Sessions, Eagles of Death Metal, Foo Fighters, Iron Maiden, Megadeth, System of a Down, Metallica, Muse, Placebo, Queen, Jack Penate, Adele, Duffy, Mark Lanegan, Gutter Twins, PJ Harvey, Last Shadow Puppets, Bon Iver, Icon and the Black Roses Also, omghimoi |

And of course, seemingly everyone I know that's a huge fan of Green Day, thinks their much earlier stuff is "good" but subpar in comparison, whereas IMO their newer songs are (with some exceptions) Top 40s shit that you'd get tired of in an hour. Give me some Brain Stew or Geek Stink Breath any day. |

0 | Thanks for the suggestions so far guys. I'll be sure to listen to them all. And sorry for you little to work with but you should know that I'm really open-minded when it comes to music. I like most genres except country. I'll try to give you more bands to get a general feel on what I listen to when I'm on my computer (I'm using my iPod now, mind you). |

0 | Seriously, I can't see many bands. Depends on your style really. Foo Fighters would be a good band. EDIT: If you like some rap, Gangsta's Paradise is a cool song, but probably too known. |

0 | Say Anything is never a bad choice. Get ...Is a Real Boy (including the re-release). Notable tracks would include: -Yellow Cat (Slash) red Cat -Belt -Woe -The Writhing South Stuff's a lot less "mainstream". In the past several years they've released like two singles >_> The newer album, In Defense of the Genre isn't as good. They've also got a bunch of old obscure stuff that you can probably torrent. <_< |
