0 | with a decent gpa. you'll be able to get into state colleges, however, you're out of luck if you're trying to get into a division 1 school. they expect at least 600-700 on crit reading and math. |

0 | I have to take the ACT in a few weeks. My school's been labeling it as if it's the defining event of our lives, for lack of a better word. Personally, I don't really think it's really half as difficult as it apparently is, heck, even before taking these "required" ACT prep classes, I got a 24, and I didn't even finish the essay portion(although, all I was missing was a sentence or two in the conclusion). On the other hand, I heard that our scores dictate how much funding my school gets, or something like that, so I guess it is important. |

0 | SAT, ACT... it's all Chinese to me. I never had to take any tests for admission into a college or whatever... the closest thing I had was the year-end exams at the end of our equivalent of senior year. Ah, the memories. I remember taking that chemistry exam and finding it really, really hard, while everyone else found it easy. Well, wouldn't you know, I had a perfect score, while the average (58%) was below the passing grade (60%). Still, it wasn't all good, since I missed out on valedictorian because of my complete ineptness at PE. Frustrating? You bet. |

0 | That's where being an American gives an advantage, the teacher just assumes if you do bad, you tried your best. Whether you did bad because your unathletic or simply because you don' try. |

0 | PE is complete bull. I don't understand why they even make you do that ****. While you need education to get anywhere in life, physical ability should be optional. I'm not saying this because I always failed it, I'm saying it because it is a complete waste of time. I could've used the hundreds of hours over the course of grade school to do something productive. Then again, it is America. |

0 | I like PE. It's the only class I have with all my friends in it. >_> And to pass, you just have to change and participate. (Lol participate, we usually cut or do whatever we want) Yes we are badass like that. |

0 | No, I mean it should be an optional class. Maybe, at the most, required in earlier years of education. By High School, that just should be optional. There were better classes I could've taken in that time. I'm just glad it's over. My high school requires only two semesters of gym. |

0 | Here, the government actually increased PE time in schools in the last couple years. Their argument? FIGHTING OBESITY. Yeah, like fat nerds like me will give more of a flying **** about it. Makes me glad I finished high school in 2001, before the government got involved. Oh, and you know what? Still in the name of fighting obesity, those dumb ****s are going to forbid fries in arenas. When I go watch a hockey game, it's probably going to be an overpriced poutine I want to eat, not an equally overpriced salad. Oh, and let's not forget fries will be off-limits, but the even more questionable (and overpriced, of course) hot-dogs will be perfectly fine. We are governed by complete idiots. |

0 | My gym classes were usually relatively small with only 16-20 students if that (hell, senior year, I graduated from a class of 82; one of my other classes had only eight students, including me) which I think lended to our teacher not really giving a shit about what we did. We were given sporting equipment and expected to amuse ourselves for twenty minutes. If we had badminton or lacrosse stuff, or even kickball/whiffleball, things could be pretty fun. Especially since me and another couple of students had a "trend" in which after a point was scored, the other guy would start screaming and throw the ball/racket/whatever at the other, then charge. Then every guy would stop what they were doing to run to the source of the commotion and brawl. If you could be picked up, you'd be hoisted over someone's shoulders and spun around. Originally started from a game of kickball, when all I did was hit my friend in the back with the ball well after he stopped on base. The downside is that in not giving a shit, the teacher didn't put any thought into our grades and you could get a 90 for a semester just.. because. |

I'm thinking of probably majoring in History or something, at first I thought Art but you can't make a living off that, so... History it is.[/QUOTE] The irony of this statement is just...wow. Also, on (the current) topic, I got to take Track and Field to replace my PE classes. The thing is, I had to work even less in T&F than I did in PE. And all the girls were required to wear those short shorts. Magic. Also *Cough*2100*cough* |
