I fail at computers. |

I think I removed most traces of the villain, but in the process it took away my audio device, firewall, and functionality of my USB ports. Fortunately, I managed to restore the USB ports and audio, but my firewall's still disabled with no way to return it to it's original state. I think I'm going to pop in my repair CD after reading some more about it. Whoo. /notReallyRelevantToAnyPersonOtherThanMyself
I have at least two customers a day with your problem: Download ComboFix as well and here is a manual Also install, update, UPDATE FIRST and scan with: Spybot S&D Malwarebytes These remove pretty much anything you can think of, also you should get a decent anti-Virus, if you have Norton or McAfee then uninstall it - if it worked, you wouldn't have this in the first place. Along with regular scans of the above, there are various anti-viruses that are good, most cost money, but some are free: AVG is good, very good infact. There are some nay-sayers, but as someone who does this for a living, it works far better than you'd think. If you download Kaspersky and install it as a Beta you can use it for free, but a lot of features are disabled and to update it, you might just want to go take a nap, it's extremely slow. All those above will solve all of your problems and ones you didn't know about. People who don't have any anti-virus and say things like "I've never had a virus/spyware", they're fucking stupid. Even I use protection, even though I've managed to not get infected in over a decade, it does happen to people many, many different ways - opening email attachments isn't the only way to get infected.
Thanks, Anthony. I'll try that out next if it comes back again, which kind of seemed like the case a week ago, but it hasn't been acting up since. I've used Malwarebytes, Super Anti-Spyware, and AVG to fight off the trojan. But, as I said, I'll try out your method if the fiend returns. >< Thanks again! |
