Let's discuss important issues, gentlemen.
0 | Yoshi: dinosaur, dragon, or a species in its own? Dinosaur: in Super Mario World, Mario and co. land on Dinosaur Isle, inhabited with Yoshis. However, this could refer to the many types of reptilian enemies, such as Rex and Reznor. Dragon: The coins in Super Mario World are called Dragon Coins, and have a portrait of Yoshi on the front. Plus, Yoshi can breathe fire and fly when he swallows certain Koopa shells. Species in its own: This is the most cop-out answer, but the most likely. Whoever heard of a dino/dragon who can swallow enemies with its chameleon-like tongue and turn them into eggs in the blink of an eye? Then again, whoever heard of a blue dinosaur whose spine collapses when you jump on it, yet it keeps walking across the screen like it has no care in the world; or a lava-dwelling dragon that jumps up to bite at the feet of passersby on skull rafts? It's time to debate. And Gatr, keep your scaly vore fantasies out of this topic. Dragon saliva is not hawt. |

0 | Definitely a dinosaur. He's got several features of one, namely a herbivoric or omnivoric one. Firstly, he has (at least in some games) the beak-like mouth that several herbivores (y halo thar triceratops) have. However, the puzzling thing is his apparent lack of any scales, which points away from Dinosaur/Dragon and toward unique species. However, the white-ringed, red nubs on his back may be all that remains of his scales as a result of evolution - Yoshi doesn't exactly need scales. Yoshis are clearly a triceratops-ankylosaur hybrid species that have over millions of years evolved into the bipedal, lovable creature we know and love. |

0 | I think a Yoshi is a Yoshi, considering in the games you can get a "yellow Yoshi", not a "yellow Dragon". That's just what I think about the matter. |

0 |
Dude, that's a saddle.
In some jgames, he's got ridges on his back, or little red dots qitha white ring surrounding them that get progressively smaller as you move away from the "saddle". |
