The Libelldra Forge is about quality, and this quality will be preserved and built upon if we correct and edit current analyses. This topic is a guide for what should be corrected in analyses, and how. NOTE: This topic will only be used to discuss the analysis format; use this topic to post edits/corrections. If you wish to make a correction or edit, post in that topic the name of the analysis and the link, as well as the revisions.

Correction 1: Spelling
Spelling is a VERY big deal on analyses. Make sure that all analyses have words spelled correctly, and to report any typos. These things should have been avoided when the analysis was first made, but some typos slip through the cracks.

Correction 2: Grammar
ALL ANALYSES SHOULD BE WRITTEN IN COMPLETE SENTENCES. It is easy to make an analysis that shows quick ideas, but unless your target audience is very knowledgeable, there is a high chance that the reader will have no idea what you are saying. Your classical grammar rules apply here - sentence structure, punctuation and capitalization (words like "Pokemon", "OHKO", etc. are capitalized).

Correction 3: Professionalism
The main idea here is that an analysis should look as though it was written by a professional. Of course, the ol' subtle humor is appreciated, but immaturity is not. You don't need to make yourself sound too ornate, but please avoid childish jokes. In set descriptions, be sure to write out things fully (try to avoid using stat abbreviations like SpAtk and do NOT abbreviate the Pokemon's name.)

---

- Try to eliminate /'s in analyses; moves that should not be used as frequently will fit in the "Other Options" section
- If you have three or more EV spreads listed, pick one or two of the best; the third, fourth, etc. will either be not as efficient, or can be used in a different set.
- If a set has about 3 /'s or greater, chances are it can be split into 2 different sets.
- If a Pokemon has two moves that perform similar purposes but have slight differences (i.e. Thunderbolt or Discharge on an Electric-type), list one of the moves and relegate the other to the "Other Options" set.
- In "Other Options", list only LOGICAL options. Pretty much every Pokemon learns Toxic, but will Tyranitar really be able to use it? Likewise, don't list Hidden Power [Ice] on Heracross "to beat Gliscor."

I hope these tips will come in handy for the analysis revamp. Remember, spelling, grammar, professionalism, uniformity, and conciseness are the goals of this analysis, and an analysis lacking any of these should be mentioned in the Correction Corner topic posted above.

If multiple options are a MUST in a moveset, like two possible Hidden Power choices, then please post them. However, if the move with tons of options is really filler, or both attacks hit the same pokemon, use your discretion as to which is better. Two exmaples:

Yanmega @ Choice Specs
Modest - 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Tinted Lens
-Air Slash
-Bug Buzz
-Hidden Power Ice / Hidden Power Ground
-U-turn

The last slot could really be a choice between Shadow Ball, Giga Drain and U-turn. However, U-turn on this set is the most usful, because of Tinted Lens. While Shadow Ball and Giga Drain will both OHKO Gengar/Swampert and are worth mentioning in other options, they're not good enough to warrent three ///'s on this set.

Infernape @ Life Orb
Naive - 64 Atk / 244 SpA / 232 Spe
Blaze
-Fire Blast
-Grass Knot / ThunderPunch
-Hidden Power Ice
-Close Combat

I listed this set because ThunderPunch vs Grass Knot is a very common controversary on Infernape, and it will make a good exmaple while (hopefully) clearing this argument up. ThunderPunch is not nesecary. You will not OHKO Gyarados, and it does less damage to other bulky waters like Starmie and Milotic switching in, since it has less base power, and is coming off of Infernape's lower attacking stat.

This post is really just stressing how important it is to keep your EV and move set options to a minimum, as that makes it much easier on the readers. Use your discretion if you come upon a situation like one of these two situtations.
