In lieu of Fantasty, I am creating a topic of all of my favorite music. Of course, most of my favorite songs are hip-hop. I am an avid listener of hip-hop, I've been listening to it for my whole life (which is only 13 years old). Even at my young age, being raised in a musical family and in a urban neighborhood (woot grammar) got me into hip-hop. It's one of the few music genre's I listen to (the others are soul, jazz, R&B) and I have to say I love it. I can understand all the hate that hip-hop is getting though, most people that listen to hip-hop only listen to the mainstream party hip-hop music, such as Soulja Boy, Hurricane Chris, 50 Cent, etc. They have every right to hate rap music after all of this garbage that is being put out. But, I am not one of those listeners, nor do I support them, so you will not find much mainstream hip-hop in this thread. Now, let's get this party started.

Pete Rock & C.L. Smooth: T.R.O.Y (They Reminisce Over You)
IMO, this is the best the beat ever made. A great tribute song to "Trouble" T-Roy, one of the members of Heavy D and the Boyz. C.L. Smooth's rhymes are just.... great, and Pete Rock's jazzy beat fits this song perfectly.

AZ: Rather Unique
My favorite rap song. I cannot go a day without listening to this song at least twice. Pete Rock's featured in the beginning, and IIRC, this song is also produced by him. Sadly, it doesn't have a video.

Nas: The World Is Yours
We all know Nas. Needs no explanation. Illmatic is one of the top 10 Hip-Hop albums. If I could, I would put on the whole album. I might as well give a link to upload it ^_^.
[embed]<object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/1tLXKVRfnlI&rel=1"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/1tLXKVRfnlI&rel=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>[/embed]

Nas: It Ain't Hard To Tell
See The World Is Yours
[embed]<object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/_-_IFAt8ka0&rel=1"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/_-_IFAt8ka0&rel=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>[/embed]

Jay-Z: Dead Presidents
I despise what garbage Jay-Z is putting out right now. Yet, I cannot pass his great debut "Reasonable Doubt". The same for Illmatic, I would add the whole album if I wanted to. I just don't want to flood this topic with Jay-Z and Nas. This song also samples "The World Is Yours", which is what makes it even more epic.

Jay-Z: Can't Knock The Hustle

Common: I Used To Love Her
What can I say? This song is a hip-hop classic. It was what made Common who Common is and helped with his rise to fame. This song, is widely believed to be one of the greatest hip-hop songs of all time. Enough of me talking, just listen to this classic.

Mobb Deep: Shook One Pt. II
Yes, this is going to be one of the few gangsta rap songs on here. Dope beat, dope rhymes, what more to y'all want? This is THE song, makes top 10 easy. All of those rappers rapping about guns, murder, the streets, want to be like Mobb Deep. Again, this song is THE gangsta rap song.
[embed]<object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/UeuEGr_UTzg&rel=1"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/UeuEGr_UTzg&rel=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>[/embed]

Big L: MVP
Another great gangsta rapper. Big L is one of my favorite lyricist, has a nice flow, and great punchlines. This is one of his more outstanding tracks.
[embed]<object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/9RjIIULmtl4&rel=1"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/9RjIIULmtl4&rel=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>[/embed]

Black Star: Definition
This song put Talib + Mos Def on the map. The start of their careers. I just love this song, I can't even explain it.
[embed]<object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/qt5ycIbXBZU&rel=1"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/qt5ycIbXBZU&rel=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>[/embed]

Mos Def: Love
Sadly, this song does not have a video, but I just love this song. I love this beat, Mos Def's rhymes are so visionary. He is one of my favorite rappers, so he deserves to be here. I was always bad at explanations, so, I'll just post the link.
[embed]<object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/Kc8eD0prHIM&rel=1"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/Kc8eD0prHIM&rel=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>[/embed]

J Dilla: So Far To Go
R.I.P. Dilla. He is my favorite producer. This is my favorite song by him. This beat was on J Dilla's album "Donuts" and was retitled, got lyrics, and put onto the album "The Shining" (which is one of the few albums I own) and then later put onto Common's "Finding Forever" with different verses from Common. Whew. That's a lot of albums, isn't it?
[embed]<object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/bM_jjEnhaIQ&rel=1"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/bM_jjEnhaIQ&rel=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>[/embed]

Outkast: ATLiens
Even before Andre 3000 dropped one of the hottest verses of the year (International Player's Anthem), Outkast was doing it big. But, their sophomore album "ATLiens" is my favorite (I use this word alot) album by them. This is my favorite song on that album. Big Boi's verse is just outrageous. I don't know how many times I've used "I'm cooler then a Polar Bear's toenail".
[embed]<object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/0xZ6WuoUktU&rel=1"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/0xZ6WuoUktU&rel=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>[/embed]

A Tribe Called Quest: Electric Relaxation
If you ever watched the Wayan Brothers, you should know this song. ATCQ are the fathers of Alternative Hip-Hop and influenced many. "Midnight Marauders" is a great album. A classic.
[embed]<object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/ERQzl4xDpXk&rel=1"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/ERQzl4xDpXk&rel=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>[/embed]

Blu & Exile: Soul Amazin
This is easily my favorite album that came out this year. Blu is a great rapper. I didn't even know this song had a vid, so since it does, I'll post it, although I think "Blu Colla Workers", "Show Me (The Good Life) and "In Remembrance...." are the best tracks on the album.
[embed]<object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/rurDRF6j03M&rel=1"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/rurDRF6j03M&rel=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>[/embed]

Asheru & Blue Black: Trackrunners
Ah, Asheru. You may know him from "The Boondocks" where he drops the intro. That's where I found out about him. I decided to listen to his two albums and I'm was hooked. I know this sounds a bit redundant, but, he is one of my favorite rappers (top 20). He is just great. I love this beat ALOT also. The song is actually 7:10 second, but I guess this version is cut down.

Warren G: Regulate
I love this song. The end.
[EMBED]<object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/zhWGDGHupYA&rel=1"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/zhWGDGHupYA&rel=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>[/EMBED]

Dr. Dre: The Watcher
This is my favorite Dr. Dre song. Even though I despise most West Coast rappers (see: The Game), I have to say that this song is great. It speaks the truth.
[embed]<object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/NUlbPYmE3jk&rel=1"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/NUlbPYmE3jk&rel=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>[/embed]

N.W.A: Express Yourself
Everyone knows this song. Great lyrics, great beat, great song altogether.
[embed]<object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/Df2vkOd2j7Y&rel=1"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/Df2vkOd2j7Y&rel=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>[/embed]

Ice Cube: It Was A Good Day
Who doesn't know Ice Cube, from the Friday movies? Yes, he was in N.W.A. When he went solo, he dropped this gem. This is the only song I like by him (although I must admint, I never listened to him ^_^).
[embed]<object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/T-HL1kyW6GY&rel=1"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/T-HL1kyW6GY&rel=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>[/embed]

Main Source: Live At The BBQ
This song is where Nas got his start. And he doesn't dissapoint. You can see why he got signed. The album "Breaking Atoms" is a classic, and I reccommed it to every hip-hop listener.
[embed]<object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/PhKNqYKtiNI&rel=1"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/PhKNqYKtiNI&rel=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object></embed]

Panacea: Pops Said
I love this song. It's off of there album, The Scenic Route. I love the album, I think it's the best production of 2007.
