Its close i can see the flames its behind a mountain ridge and the Santa Anna winds are blowing it away from our house, but those winds are sctisofrenic they constently change so i many not be on for a while. |

0 | The air at my college is filled with the smell of charcoal because the winds blow the air from the fire down here. The sun is covered in haze that makes it look orange. Many people skip school today because of asthma problems. By the way, I go to UCI in case anyone wanted to know how that related to the topic. |

0 | Georgia is even worse because the whole damn state is in a drought. We are supposed to run out of water in 3 months unless it rains everyday for a month. |

0 | <3 Canada. No hurricanes, no tornadoes, no droughts, no earthquakes, nothing except winters that become more and more bearable thanks to global warming. |

sounds like New York, except for the "no hurricanes" part...I live near the coast. on an island, technically. |

chewman3, you're supposed to remain serious in these forums at all times. Anyway back to the topic, I hear the smoke has spread to all of LA. EDIT: I realized I'm a 10 minute drive away from the source of the fire. |

That's no fun. We're perhaps ten inches below normal rainfall here in Maryland. |

0 | We just got like 4 inches of rainfall in NJ like on Friday. It was fun. Only thing we got that everyone else doesn't is more pollution and more humidity >.< |

0 | Speaking of rain, it rained all day here. I woke up, it rained. I went to work, it rained. Went home for lunch, it rained. Just came back from work AND IT STILL RAINS. j00 want some, don't you? And man, some of your stories are scary. A 10-minute drive from the source of the fire? Eww. I hear you don't even have CL-215s either, just lousy helicopters. Doesn't help. |

0 | This is why I love Michigan... Don't like the weather, wait five minutes. Here's an example, last spring break it was a beautiful 80 degree day.... the next day it was snowing. |

0 | I got a public announcement today from my Race and Ethnicity class where my professor said that Orange County is understaffed when it comes to combating fires. I think it's better now though. There's no more ash in the air. |

0 | I live in SoCal too, the Buckweed fire came right up to my house and we had to evacuate. We spent the whole night not knowing whether or not our house was okay, but it turns out when we got there that we got a water drop on our street and it stopped the fire. |

So...a water drop stopped the fire? |

Water dropped from a plane. Not a drop of water... |
